The Side Of You Only You See

Let me ask you something uncomfortable…
When was the last time you were completely sure you were right…
and still chose to question yourself?
Not to be polite.
Not to satisfy someone else.
But to genuinely ask:
“What if I’m missing something?”
Or do we question others…
while quietly protecting our own beliefs like they are facts?
How Many Versions of You Exist Right Now?
I’ve learned something about myself that most people won’t admit.
I can be:
a child — emotional, reactive
a teenager — defensive, resistant
an adult — logical, structured
an entrepreneur — aggressive, decisive
a professional — disciplined, calculated
and at times… brutally self-reflective
So which version of me is making the decision?
And more importantly…
Which version of you is in control right now?
Because sometimes:
You’re not making a decision
Your ego is protecting its position
Sometimes:
You’re not rejecting advice
Your past self is refusing to update
And sometimes:
You’re not being logical
You’re just being consistent with what you already believe
Do You Actually Understand — Or Just Feel Familiar?
Let’s simplify this.
Imagine someone is building a house.
You say:
“Just build a wall here and put a roof on top — that should solve it.”
Simple. Logical. Clear.
But what you don’t see:
the foundation underneath
the structure holding the weight
the wiring behind the walls
the long-term cracks that may appear
Now when someone tries to explain:
“It’s not just the wall — the base needs to change too…”
It suddenly sounds complicated.
So the question is:
Are they overcomplicating… or are you only seeing the surface?
Because familiarity often feels like understanding.
And that’s where most decisions go wrong.
Why Is It Harder to Learn From People Close to You?
Here’s something worth reflecting on.
Why is it that:
Advice from an outsider feels “professional”
But the same advice from someone close feels “optional”?
Not because of logic.
But because of history.
When you’ve seen someone:
at their weakest
at their earliest stage
before they grew
A part of your mind freezes them there.
So even if they evolve…
You’re still listening to who they were, not who they’ve become.
And that creates an invisible resistance.
Not always out of ego…
but out of familiarity that refuses to update.
Are You Seeking a Solution — Or Defending Your Idea?
Think about your last serious decision.
Did you:
explore multiple possibilities?
ask deeper questions?
try to understand the full picture?
Or did you:
stick to your first idea?
reject anything unfamiliar?
feel uncomfortable when challenged?
Because there’s a difference.
One approach builds better outcomes.
The other protects your current belief.
And here’s the real question:
Do you want to be right… or do you want to get it right?
What If “Simple” Is Just What You Can See?
People often say:
“Keep it simple.”
And that’s not wrong.
But what if…
It only looks simple
because you can’t see everything behind it?
Think about running a shop.
From the outside, it’s simple:
buy products
sell products
make profit
But in reality:
pricing affects demand
stock affects cash flow
small decisions affect long-term survival
So when someone says:
“There’s more to consider…”
It’s not always complication.
Sometimes it’s visibility you haven’t reached yet.
Can You Truly Consider Another Perspective?
Here’s a test most people fail.
When someone presents a different idea:
Can you sit with it long enough to understand it?
Not to reply.
Not to argue.
Just to understand.
Or do you:
dismiss it quickly
label it unnecessary
move on without exploring it
Because if you can’t hold two perspectives at once…
How do you know yours is the better one?
The Real Reflection
Let’s be honest.
You think you’re right.
I think I’m right.
Everyone thinks they’re right.
So what separates one from another?
It’s not confidence.
It’s not experience.
It’s not even success.
It’s awareness.
How closely do you observe your own thinking?
How honestly do you question yourself?
How open are you to being wrong?
Because in the end…
The difference is not who is smarter.
It’s who is more accurate.
Final Thought
Everyone believes they are the smartest in their own story.
But very few:
look deeply into their own thinking
question their own certainty
or truly observe what’s happening within and around them
And maybe that’s where the real difference lies.
Not in who is right…
but in who is willing to see more.
Because accuracy doesn’t come from confidence.
It comes from:
observation
reflection
and the courage to look at yourself without filters
So the real question is not:
“Am I right?”
It is:
“How closely am I actually looking — at myself, and at everything around me?”
